and the winners were .......... EVERYBODY !!
What a wonderful day we have had today considering that due to Hopes accident my illness not a lot of time effort or organisation went into it. We raised a lot of money for the kid’s activities.
My Heartfelt thanks goes out to Tommy of Simply Sensory who moved all our stuff from and back to the office, To Alison who was with me at 8.15 getting stuff ready, To Lisa and Michael who ran the events along with Tommy
To Nan and Nora both who are not well, for helping today, to Peter as well who manned a stall. To Michael Julie and
Jason for their stall. Julie for hooking her bags
To Melissa and Rick who have never done a BBQ before what a good job, to Shirley who came along and helped where needed.
But can I stress the kids were amazing, Both Ross and Paige did the Tom bola as members did not turn up, Ross Phil Nathan and Paige for helping pack up all the stuff.
Jodie who went round with big plastic bag and picked up rubbish, Ali and Aly also did a pick up
All the kids who were there helped in some way, my memory of the day was a young mum with an Autistic boy, who got 2 medals, Michael and Lisa gave to him for trying so hard and succeeding, and his mum sobbing as he had never done anything like this before.
It was uplifting, the kids on frodingham Park had a whale of a time, and we donated some football goals as they did not have any. The mums and dads have asked us to come back and do it again there, but bigger, we would need a better turn out of members to make this happen.
To Tony Ellerby the local councillor for Frodingham for making this happen, thanks Tony we really enjoyed the day
The weather was brilliant; Lisa has a lot of sunburn, me also It is a wonderful community, we met some lovely people who will now support us. Well done all of you that turned up, the kids loved the football. A grand Day
